(Congregation may be invited to be seated for prayer.)

With the prayer “God in your great compassion” you are invited to respond…
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

1. Confident in God’s enduring love; let us lift up the needs of the church, the world, and all of creation.

A brief moment of silence and reflection

2. Invigorate the varied ministries in your church and encourage us to seek out new avenues of reaching out to the community.
God, in your great compassion:
HEAR OUR PRAYER

3. Nourish the vital web that connects all of creation, and open in us occasions for reflection and rejuvenation.
God, in your great compassion:
HEAR OUR PRAYER

4. Intercede where justice and peace are lacking and raise up wise leaders with the courage to regard the needs of the poor.
God, in your great compassion:
HEAR OUR PRAYER

5. Uphold those who are restless and seeking meaning in their life; relieve the suffering of all who need healing or encouragement. We pray in particular for those we name aloud or quietly in our heart at this time…

Help all to experience your reassuring presence through life’s varied seasons. And in this coming week may we offer a reassuring presence to those we meet.
God, in your great compassion:
HEAR OUR PRAYER

6. Accompany all who travel and are far from home, help us to welcome the visitors among us and to recognize the gifts they have to offer..
God, in your great compassion:
HEAR OUR PRAYER

7. May the members and their respective communities be guided and empowered by the ministries of our congregation, our partner Anglican Church of Canada and all communities of faith. In particular at this time we pray for the congregations of our BC Synod: for St Paul’s Lutheran in Maple Ridge and their pastor, Roland Ziprick; Matsqui Lutheran church in Matsqui; and for the institutions, pastors, visitors and family members who offer their time, their patience and their care for the elderly. May all your people find fulfillment in their personal ministry to friends, family and the stranger.
God, in your great compassion:
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

8. God, you are the giver of those good things we experience in our daily living;
– we thank you for the gift of the wealth we presently enjoy;
– we thank you for opportunities to share our gifts with those in need;
– Finally, we thank you for those special blessings we name at this time….

God, in your great compassion: HEAR OUR PRAYER.

9. Draw us to the heavenly city prepared for those who have trusted in your promises and grant us the assurance of all that we hope for. AMEN.
