With the prayer “together we pray” you are invited to respond
COME, LORD JESUS

1. In this season of hope and anticipation, we pray for the church, those in need, and all of God’s creation.

A brief moment of silence and reflection

2. We pray this morning for your faithful flock throughout the world. We pray for the gathering of this assembly, for our partner Anglican Church of Canada and for the congregations of the BC Synod: In particular we pray for Peace Lutheran Church in Abbotsford and their pastor, Christoph Reiners; and for Emmaus Lutheran Church in Burnaby and their pastor, Jukka Joensuu. In this Advent season open our eyes to see your presence in us and among us.
Together we pray:
COME, LORD JESUS

3. May those in the ministry of research bring the promise of health and healing to all people. In particular we pray that your creative power would lead to a cure of those afflicted by HIV/AIDS. Give us compassion to bear our neighbor’s burdens.
Together we pray:
COME, LORD JESUS

4. Transform our tools of war and destruction into instruments for cultivation and growth. Uphold and protect all those involved with peace keeping, those providing medical care in war ravaged nations, and those involved with negotiations that seek to bring peace and security for their people.
Together we pray:
COME, LORD JESUS

5. Be attentive to all who wait expectantly for your mercy in times of crises, fear, grief and illness. We pray especially for those we name aloud or quietly in our heart at this time ….

Answer all those who cry out to you, and in this coming week may we be instruments of care for all we
meet.
Together we pray:
COME, LORD JESUS

6. God, you are the giver of all good things:
– in this Advent season we thank you that we are the reason for your coming;
– we thank you for all those who have accepted your call to serve in the leadership of our church: we pray in particular for our Bishop, Greg and for our national Bishop, Susan. Uphold them in their ministry by your power and our prayers;
– we thank you for those who have known the gift of another birthday, another anniversary, or the gift
of new life;
– finally, we thank you for those special blessings we name at this time….
Together we pray:
COME, LORD JESUS

7. You have clothed the saints in the light of Christ. Teach us to live in our Lord’s ways until that great day when all things are made new.
. Together we pray: COME, LORD JESUS
8. Almighty God, we entrust to you all for whom we pray confident that you fulfill your promises through Christ our Savior and Lord. AMEN
