HEAR OUR PRAYER

  1. Led by the Spirit, let us join the whole people of God in Christ Jesus in praying for the church, those in need and all of God’s creation

      A brief period of silence.

  1. Guide this congregation and each community of faith as they prepare for their Fall programs aimed at enhancing the discipleships of their members. In particular we pray for our partner Anglican Church of Canada and for the congregations of our BC Synod as they prepare their Fall programs: at this time we pray for Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Penticton and their pastor, Curtis Aquirre; for Trinity Anglican-Lutheran church in Port Alberni and their pastor, George Pell.

Bless, guide and encourage all hospital chaplains, volunteers and family members who offer the ministry of care to those in need of healing and your reassuring presence.

God of new life:  HEAR OUR PRAYER.

  1. God of love, your church is meant to be a community where its members help and encourage each other as together they seek to make wise and responsible decisions in their daily life. As you gather us around your Word, your font and your table, teach us as individuals to value and use the gift of our community.

God of new life:  HEAR OUR PRAYER.

  1. God of love, your creation is a precious gift to us and to all the living. Open our eyes and our hearts to acknowledge daily that precious gift.   Open the minds and the hearts of our political leaders so they would make wise and courageous decisions based not on selfish short term gain but on long term needs of their children and their children’s children.

God of new life:  HEAR OUR PRAYER.

  1. God of love, your desire is for peace and security for all but at this time particularly for children, women and the elderly. Continue to call your children—of all ages–to accept a call to serve the church and their community. Give us and our leaders the delight in living with honor and showing our love for neighbor.
  1. God of love, your way is a way of goodness and life. Free us from those things that create fear, dread and disgrace. We pray for those who know anxiety, pain, loneliness, addiction and broken relationships. We pray especially for those we name aloud or quietly at this time.

Help us in this coming week to respond to the needs of our neighbor.

God of new life:   HEAR OUR PRAYER

  1.  God, we thank you those special and unexpected blessings in our daily:
   -we thank you for friends who for, through the years, have encouraged us
  – and we thank you for those friends who have protected us from making rash and unwise decisions;
  – we thank you at this time for those who have known the gift of another birthday, another anniversary, or     the gift of new life;
  – finally, we thank you for those special blessings we name at this time….

God of new life: HEAR OUR PRAYER.

  1. God of love, your promise to us is resurrection. Confirm in us that promise as we remember those who lived a life of humble daily discipleship. We thank you for those whose memories remain with us to this day.

God of new life:  HEAR OUR PRAYER.

  1. Into your loving hands, gracious God, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your abundant mercy through Jesus Christ our savior AMEN.
