With the words “O, Divine Mystery and mercy,” you are invited to respond:

HEAR OUR PRAYER.

With confidence in your abounding compassion and generosity, let us pray for the church, the world, and all of creation.

A moment of silence

God of compassion, you came to live among in and create meaningful community. We pray that all our congregations be places of welcome and belonging for those who seek you.

O, Divine Mystery and mercy:  HEAR OUR PRAYER.

God of creativity, you have imbued the world with plenty and growing things. Help us find the best ways to participate in the health and wealth of our planet.

O, Divine Mystery and mercy:  HEAR OUR PRAYER.

God of peace, we pray for the nations of the world. Give our leaders the wisdom they need to seek peace and the well-being of all. Give us all the courage to elect and support such leaders.

O, Divine Mystery and mercy:  HEAR OUR PRAYER.

God of compassion, we pray for all those in need–both the needs we understand and all those that are beyond our comprehension. Fill us with the deep satisfaction that comes only from you. Heal the sick especially those we name aloud or in our hearts.

(Include those listed in the bulletin for prayer)

O, Divine Mystery and mercy:  HEAR OUR PRAYER.

God of learning and wisdom, we pray for all those who are returning to school: students, teachers, and staff. Infuse them with the joy of learning from one another and from sharing their gifts and questions.

O, Divine Mystery and mercy:  HEAR OUR PRAYER.

God of togetherness, we pray for our partnership with Anglican Church of Canada. We also pray for the congregations of our BC Synod, especially Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Surrey and Pastor Henry Guo and Hope Lutheran in Nanaimo Pastor Terry Richardson.

O, Divine Mystery and mercy:  HEAR OUR PRAYER.

God of community, bind us together with all your faithful ones of all times and in all places. Help us to receive all the good that you offer your children.

O, Divine Mystery and mercy:  HEAR OUR PRAYER.

Into your hands, loving God, we place all our hopes and dreams, trusting in the compassion of the man from Galilee.  AMEN
