With the words, Lord of the harvest, you are invited to respond Hear our prayer.

Giver of the ongoing gift of the Eucharist, we pray for our church, for those in need, and for all of creation.

a brief silence

Bless our efforts to be good news in a hurting world. Make love visible in word and action mark our partnership with the Anglican Church of Canada. Bless Bishop Logan, Bishop Greg and the congregations of our synod. We pray especially today for St. Paul in Prince Rupert and Pastor James Whaley and Our Saviour in Richmond.

Lord of the harvest

Hear our prayer.

Bring forth an abundant harvest from fields, orchards, and gardens, and let us eat joyfully to sustain our health and happiness. Renew the fields as they become fallow. Feed and protect wild creatures in all their beauty and diversity.

Lord of the harvest

Hear our prayer.

Shine the bright light of peace on all those places ravaged by conflict, war, and daily turmoil. Make those of us who live in peace here in Canada speak up against the discord that destroys people’s hopes for food, clothing, shelter, and the joy of family life.

Lord of the harvest

Hear our prayer.

Give us patience and the willingness to wrestle learning and strength from times of trial, illness, and injury. Teach us how to support others in tough times and give us the willingness to do so. Turn your heart to those we name aloud or deep within us. We pray especially for those who have requested your care and strength (name those on the prayer list)

Lord of the harvest

Hear our prayer.

Hold us near to you in all our times of beginning and ending things. Make all our passages of life holy by walking beside us and turning our eyes towards meaning and truth.

Lord of the harvest

Hear our prayer.

Help us to draw inspiration from the saints, living and dead, who found their ways of saying “yes” to you and your will.  We remember Dag Hammarskjöld, renewer of society, whom we commemorate today.

Lord of the harvest

Hear our prayer.

Into the abundance of your love and light, we commend all this for which we pray.

Amen
