Prayers for May 27, 2018 – The Holy Trinity

With the words “Call us into the dance of faith, ” please respond:

HEAR OUR PRAYER.

Inspired by the divine dance of the three persons of the Trinity, we pray for the life of the church, the world, and people in need.

A moment of silence

Blessed be you, Abba-Father, for your spirit reaching ours with tender touch and indulgent eyes. Inflate our being with confidence as your chosen children, called to live out your love on earth. Teach us to restore the broken to wholeness through your powerful love.

Call us into the dance of faith

HEAR OUR PRAYER.

Blessed be you, Incarnated Word, our brother who affirms us, flesh and blood, sinew and senses. Let us claim the whole earth–cities and fields, soaring mountains and water–as the fruit of your imagination and our beloved home.

Call us into the dance of faith

HEAR OUR PRAYER.

Blessed be you, Spirit of love and inspiration, Spirit of sharing and community. Fill us with justice and peace that we might be your voice, your hands and feet, your comforting presence in a world that needs you. Raise up our love as part of a growing crowd of witnesses.

Call us into the dance of faith

HEAR OUR PRAYER.

Blessed be you, Holy Imagination, for creating our world and ourselves as an incarnation of wonder and wholeness. Let us grab hold of the creativity that is you active in our everyday lives and our strength in hard times.

Call us into the dance of faith

HEAR OUR PRAYER.

Blessed be our joint communion with our partner Anglican Church of Canada, the Bishop in your region, the Roman Catholic Church, the Bishop in your region and our own Bishop Greg. We pray for the congregations of our BC Synod: Peace Lutheran in Abbotsford and Pastor Denise Doerksen and Emmaus in Burnaby and Pastor Timo Saarinen.

Call us into the dance of faith

HEAR OUR PRAYER.

Blessed be you who promise to stay with us always, even when we suffer from want, injustice, or anguish of any kind. Teach us to sit with you in times of trouble, leaning into our difficulties and learning to trust you more. In our living and in our dying, you are with us. We pray for those we name aloud or silently in our hearts.

(Include those listed in the bulletin for prayer)

Call us into the dance of faith

HEAR OUR PRAYER.

With you holy three in one and one in three, we choose the posture of prayer that is feet dancing rather than knees kneeling.

AMEN.
