Prayers for July 8, 2018 – Time After Pentecost

With the words “Healer of all brokenness, ” you are invited to respond:

 HAVE MERCY UPON US.

Growing in compassion and a sense of abundance, we pray for the life of the church, the world, and people in need.

A moment of silence

Equip us all with words of the good news you bring to all humanity. Make our church a tower of light shining over dark times for our church, and infuse us with the creativity to speak your truth day by day.

Healer of all brokenness

HAVE MERCY UPON US.

Open our eyes to the joys of watching crops and gardens grow in the heat of summer. Bless the land and those who work it. Send rain in good measure, especially to relieve drought-ridden lands and forest fires.

Healer of all brokenness

HAVE MERCY UPON US.

Raise up prophets and prophetic leaders, that the nations embrace ways of justice and peace. Provide for the needs of refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers, and exiles. Comfort those whose daily lives are torn apart by war and conflict.

Healer of all brokenness

HAVE MERCY UPON US.

Remind us daily that our ministry as your church and your people is one of hospitality. May we welcome everyone with the same peace that we offer one another on Sundays. Make us living vessels of your grace.

Healer of all brokenness

HAVE MERCY UPON US.

Invite us daily into the dance of the Trinity and conversations with all believers. We pray especially for our continuing conversation with our partner Anglican Church of Canada, their Bishop in your region, the Roman Catholic Church, their Bishop in your region and our own Bishop Greg. We pray for the congregations of our BC Synod: St. Peter’s Shared Ministry in Hudson’s Hope and Christ in Kelowna and Pastor Patricia Giannelia.

Healer of all brokenness

HAVE MERCY UPON US.

Make us turn our whole hearts and souls to you as we seek wholeness in our earthly pilgrimage. Restore in us the hope that enables us to carry on and to sew meaning into the fabric of life. Strengthen all who are fragile in body, mind, or spirit. We pray especially for those we name aloud or in our hearts.

(Include those listed in the bulletin for prayer)

Healer of all brokenness

HAVE MERCY UPON US.

Trusting in your everlasting love for us, we turn our joys and sorrows over to you. In the name of the Christ,

 AMEN.
