(Congregation may be invited to be seated for prayer.)

With the prayer “Lord, in your mercy” you are invited to respond…
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

1. Enlivened by the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, we pray for the life of the church, for those in need, and for all of God’s creation the world.

A brief silence.

2. Holy, life-giving God, breathe your Holy Spirit upon the people of your church. Lead us to live the good news of Christ’s resurrection, so that others might experience God’s invitation to a new life.
Lord, in your mercy:
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

3. In the mystery of the power of faith we pray for our neighboring religious communities, for our partner Anglican Church of Canada and for our sister congregations in the BC Synod: in particular for Spirit of Life Lutheran Church in Vancouver and their pastor, Cliff Reinhardt; for Dunbar Lutheran Church in Vancouver and their pastor, Thomas Keeley; and for our Synod staff, in particular for Synod’s new secretary, Rachel Genge. May all experience fulfillment in their daily ministry.
Lord, in your mercy:
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

4. Draw all who suffer and struggle into loving, faithful communities. Even with our differences bind us to one another in our common mission. Lead us to share our gifts and learn from one another.
Lord, in your mercy:
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

5. Heal those who know pain and loss. We pray in particular for those we name aloud or quietly in our heart at this time.

Inspire us to care for those in our midst.
Lord, in your mercy: HEAR OUR PRAYER.
6. Holy God, you bless us daily with the knowledge of our Lord’s resurrection:
– we thank you for those who have the gift of another birthday or another
anniversary, and for those who have known the gift of new life:
– we thank you for the power to forgive those who have wronged us;
– Finally we thank you for those blessings we name aloud at this time….
Lord, in your mercy:
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

7. Send rain upon the mountains and sun upon the fields. Bring your creation into bloom in this season, and sustain every living thing with your abundant goodness. Guide us daily to be faithful in the stewardship of the precious resources you have entrusted to us.
Lord, in your mercy:
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

8. Giving thanks for the saints whom Christ has freed from the bonds of death and brought into resurrection life, we pray that in our daily living you would make us dead to sin and bring us into the joy of new life.
Lord, in your mercy:
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

9. Trusting in your abundance mercy, O God, we commend ourselves and all for whom we pray, through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. AMEN.
