(Congregation may be invited to be seated for prayer.)

With the prayer “Lord, of new life” you are invited to respond…
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

1. Enlivened by the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, we pray for the life of the church for those in need and for all of God’s creation the world.

A brief silence.

2. Holy, abiding God, breathe your love into your people. By your spirit shape us to share your love with one another, so that others would see your love and come to know you.
Lord, of new life: HEAR OUR PRAYER.

3. Lord, you continue to give your church new opportunities to show your love. We pray for our neighboring religious communities, for our partner Anglican Church of Canada and for our sister congregations in the BC Synod: in particular we pray for St Peter Estonian Lutheran church in Vancouver and their pastor Walter Johanson; and for Peace Lutheran Church in Vernon and their pastor Richard Schulz. May all communities of faith and all ministers of the Gospel reflect the love and power of the risen Christ.
Lord, of new life: HEAR OUR PRAYER.

4. Go forth with all missionaries as they work together to serve others while sharing the good news of salvation. Make their ministry both welcomed and welcoming.
Lord, of new life: HEAR OUR PRAYER.

5. Abide with people who feel unloved, who deal with personal crisis, and those who struggle with illness. Surround them with people whose compassion sustains and uplifts them. We pray in particular for those we name aloud or quietly in our heart at this time…

May all know the comfort and the strength that comes from our Lord, and may they know it through our lives.
Lord, of new life: HEAR OUR PRAYER.
6. God you come to us in our trials and you surprise us with daily blessings:
– We thank you for those who have the gift of another birthday or another anniversary, and for those who have known the gift of new life:
– we thank you for opportunities to care for others in the name of our Lord;
– we thank you for your love reflected in the gospels and in the epistles read on this Sunday morning;
– Finally we thank you for those special blessings we name aloud at this time….

Lord, continue to open our eyes to the work of your Spirit in our lives and the lives of others.

7. Spread your sheltering presence over all new things in your creation: plants sprouting out of soil and young animals maturing and growing stronger. Protect all that is fragile in your creation.

8. Be a steadfast presence for migrant workers, refugees and all who do not have permanent homes. Guide them, and through the efforts of agencies and volunteers give them strength and hope.
