(Congregation may be invited to be seated for prayer.)

With the prayer “Lord, of new life” you are invited to respond…
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

1. Enlivened by the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ and filled with the Holy Spirit, we pray for the life of the church for those in need and for all of God’s creation.

A brief silence.

1. Holy, life-giving God, pour out your Spirit on your people. Throughout the church, inspire a unity in mission. Send us out to share the new life which we know in the risen Christ.
Spirit of God
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

2. Lord, you continue to give new life to your people and to the church. We pray at this time for our neighboring religious communities, for our partner Anglican Church of Canada and for our sister congregations in the BC Synod: in particular we pray for Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson Creek, and their pastor, Tim Johnson; Deo Lutheran Church in Salmon Arm and their pastor, Erik Bjorgan; and for our companion Synod in Peru, for Fran Schmidt and all the evangelists and servants of that church. Continue to raise up new people to serve in your church and in our communities.

HEAR OUR PRAYER.

3. To all who put the good of others before themselves, through your spirit give them encouragement, strength and protection. We pray in particular for those in the military, the police, emergency workers and those who advocate for the poor and disadvantaged.
Spirit of God
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

4. Put your life-giving spirit within weary bodies, hearts and minds. Restore those who struggle with broken relationships, personal crises, or poor health, especially those we name aloud or quietly in our heart at this time…

Help us in our ministry this week to replace despair with hope and trust in your faithfulness.
Spirit of God:
HEAR OUR PRAYER

5. Lord, your Spirit continues to be active in our church and in our individual lives:
– So we thank you for those who have the gift of another birthday or another anniversary, and for those who have known the gift of new life:
– And we thank you for refreshing us with your Spirit when we are discouraged;
– Finally we thank you for those special blessings we name aloud at this time….

Lord, continue to open our eyes to the daily work of your Spirit in in our personal life and in the life of our church.
Spirit of God
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

6. Cover all of creation with your Spirit. Through our individual efforts and through the efforts of our governments, bring renewal in areas that have been damaged or destroyed, and make life spring forth in our waters, fields and forests.
Spirit of God
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

7. As we remember the lives of your saints whose memories continue to be special to us, gather us into faithful communities until the day when your Spirit gathers us all into your eternal realm.
Spirit of God
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

8. Trusting in your abundant mercy, O God, we commend ourselves and all for whom we pray into your care, through Jesus Christ our Saviour. AMEN.
