(Congregation may be invited to be seated for prayer.)

With the prayer “Spirit of God” you are invited to respond…
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

1. With reverence for the earth, those in need and the whole human family let us offer our prayers to God.

A brief silence.

2. Make the church, and this congregation, a sign of your bountiful compassion and abundant grace.
Spirit of God
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

3. We pray also at this time for our neighboring religious communities, for our partner Anglican Church of Canada and for our sister congregations in the BC Synod: in particular we pray for Faith Lutheran Church in Kelowna and the pastors serving them; and for Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in North Vancouver and their pastor, Kim Staus. May all communities of faith reflect to each other and to the world your bountiful compassion and your abundant grace.
Spirit of God
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

4. Guide prosperous nations and people with abundance to seek a just allocation of the earth’s resources, so that all people would be fed and know health and security.
Spirit of God
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

5. Open wide your hand and satisfy the needs of every living thing. Bring forth food to nourish all of creation.
Spirit of God
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

6. May all who live with hunger, poverty, fear, depression or illness know though us the mystery of your goodness. At this time we pray especially for those we name aloud or quietly in our heart…

May all be rooted and grounded in your loving care.
Spirit of God
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

7. Lord, we thank you for those who are celebrating graduations, marriages and other special events during this season.
– we thank you for those who have the gift of another birthday or another anniversary, and for those who have known the gift of new life:
– we thank you for the gift of bread;
– we thank you for the gift of safe travel;
– Finally we thank you for those special blessings we name aloud at this time….

Lord, continue to help us recognize your loving presence in your commandment to love our neighbor as our self.
Spirit of GOD:
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

8. Unite us with all the saints who have revealed and continue to reveal to us the breadth and length and height and depth of your love.
Spirit of God
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

9. Receive our hopes and prayers; O God of mercy, for great is your faithfulness in Christ Jesus our Lord. AMEN.
