(Congregation may be invited to be seated for prayer.)

With the prayer “Spirit of God” you are invited to respond…
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

1. As disciples of Christ Jesus, called to love and care for all people. Let us pray for the church, those in need, and all of God’s creation.

A brief silence.

2. Abiding Spirit, help this church and each community of faith to be seen as a place of welcome. We pray that for our partner Anglican Church of Canada and for our sister congregations in the BC Synod: in particular we pray for St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Prince Rupert and their pastor, Jim Whaley and their new intern, Sarah Asseheim. In their ministry, help each member of each community of faith to be diligent in seeing and accepting the gifts of others.
Spirit of God:
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

3. O God, bring favorable weather to farmlands, clean air to cities, and calm seas to coastlines. When storms do rage, may there be willing helpers to those in need.
Spirit of God
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

4. Spirit of righteousness, bring peace to conflicts and to disputes in the many nations where mothers and children are crying out for an end to violence. May the leaders of nations have the courage and the wisdom to be instruments of reconciliation.
Spirit of God
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

5. God our helper, it is you who sustains life. We pray for those who are anxious for loved ones, struggling with addiction or broken relationships, and those who are unwell and in pain. We pray in particular at this time for those we name aloud or quietly in our heart …

Draw all who are in need, to your healing presence, and may we in this
coming week have eyes to recognize where people are in need of a caring
presence.
Spirit of God
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

6. Lord, we thank you for those who are celebrating graduations, marriages and other special events during this season.
– we thank you for those who have the gift of another birthday or another anniversary, and for those who have known the gift of new life:
– we thank you for your Word which reminds us that children of all ages are welcome in your kingdom;;
– Finally we thank you for those special blessings we name aloud at this time….

May we see your presence through the lives of children.
Spirit of God:
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

7. Everlasting God, we give thanks for your servants of every generation who have guided and sustained us in our life of faith. Help and defend us from the forces of evil until that day when with angels and archangels and all the company of heaven we will worship and praise your holy name.
Spirit of God
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

8. Hear our prayers, faithful God, and renew us by your Spirit that we may joyfully love and serve you and your church. AMEN
