(Congregation may be invited to be seated for prayer.)

With the prayer “Spirit of God” you are invited to respond…
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

1. In communion with the saints of every time and place, let us pray for the church, those in need and all of God’s creation.

A brief silence.

2. Ancient one, dwell in your church and in your people. Bless this assembly and all who seek you. Nourish us richly with your Word and with your sacraments, that we may be signs of your living presence to our families, our friends and our neighbors.
Spirit of God
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

3. Spirit of God, empower all communities of faith that they may witness to the truth of your love. We pray for our partner Anglican Church of Canada along with our sister congregations in the BC Synod: in particular we pray for St Peter’s Estonian Lutheran church in Vancouver and their pastor, Walter Johanson; and Peace Lutheran Church in Vernon and their pastor, Richard Schulz. Help all your servants to rejoice in your promises.
Spirit of God:
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

4. Ruler of the nations, help us and the nations’ leaders to make wise decisions for the good of all, and we pray that the elected represenatives of the people would use their authority to reflect God’s care for all people and for all of creation.
Spirit of God
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

5. God of compassion, we pray for those who weep and those who mourn. Be with those who are in pain, distress or sorrow. We pray especially for those we name aloud or quietly in our heart at this time …

Wipe away the tears of those who are in angnuish and to all give the hope of your victory.
Spirit of God
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

6. Lord, we thank you for our many blessings: we thank you for those who are celebrating graduations, marriages and other special events during this season.
– we thank you for those who have the gift of another birthday or another anniversary, and for those who have known the gift of new life:
– we thank you for saints of old who still bless us with their courage and with our memories of them;
– Finally we thank you for those special blessings we name aloud at this time….

May all know the blessing of your spirit at work.
Spirit of God:
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

7. King of Glory, the earth is yours and all that is in it. Renew farmland that now lies fallow, transform barren wastelands into fertile soil, and bring new life from death.
Spirit of God
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

8. Hear our prayers, faithful God, and renew us by your spirit, that we may joyfully love and serve you and one another through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN.
