With the prayer “Spirit of God” you are invited to respond… HEAR OUR PRAYER.

1. Let us pray for the church, the earth, and all those in need, in the name of the one who is our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace.

A brief silence.

Let us pray for all who gather together around the manger and for all who long for good news of great joy in their lives.

Spirit of God HEAR OUR PRAYER.

Let us pray for the dark places of the world—for the Arctic Circle, the deep seas, the underground caverns, and all the wild creatures that call the earth home.

Spirit of God HEAR OUR PRAYER.

Let us pray for nations, where the blood of warriors and civilians is shed; and let us pray for all who are oppressed or afraid.

Spirit of God: HEAR OUR PRAYER.

Let us pray for those without shelter, food, family or friends; for those who work long hours with little reward; for those who are ministering to others even as we worship, for children who are abused or neglected. and for the sick especially those we name aloud or quietly in our heart at this time.

Spirit of God HEAR OUR PRAYER.

Let us pray for this assembly that as we go out we might carry with us the light that is in Christ.

Spirit of God; HEAR OUR PRAYER.

Let us give thanks for the lives of those who now feast at the heavenly table. Keep us faithful as we await Christ coming in glory Spirit of God: HEAR OUR PRAYER. O God, who shines light into darkness, receive these prayers and the prayers of our hearts through the power of the Spirit. In Jesus name. AMEN.
