With the prayer “Spirit of God” you are invited to respond…

1.Called by the Holy Spirit into a life of worship and service, we pray for the church, all in need and the whole creation.

A brief moment of silence and reflection

2.God of glory and grace, you answer those who call on your name.Continue the transformation of your church so that we would indeed call on your name for direction and for courage in our daily living.

Spirit of God: HEAR OUR PRAYER.

3.You spoke to Israel in a pillar of cloud.Speak to this community of faith, to our partner Anglican Church of Canada and to all faith communities that together we would reflect the glory of God in our care for each other andfor our wider community. We pray in particular at this time for St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Maple Ridge and their pastor, Roland Ziprick;for the Lutheran community in Matsqui along with their pastors and leaders who continue to provide ministry in their community. Finally, we pray for the institutions in the church that along with caregivers and volunteers provide care and friendship for the elderly.May all your servants know strength and joy in their ministry.

Spirit of God: HEAR OUR PRAYER.

4.Let the mountains and valleys that you created be for us places of worship.And may our respect and care for you creation be for us an act of worship

Spirit of God: HEAR OUR PRAYER.

5.Let the rulers of the earth honor your decrees and uphold your statues so that they would surprise their people with peace and justice.Continue to give courage to the prophets of our time as they speak to the principalities and powers of our age.

Spirit of God: HEAR OUR PRAYER.

6.Heal the sick, comfort the grieving; send peace to the dying, and strength to those who are in pain and suffering. We pray at this time to those we name aloud or quietly in our heart…

May our ministry and our support of others offer companionship to those experiencing the prison of incarceration and the prison of human loneliness…

Spirit of God: HEAR OUR PRAYER.

7.God, the giver of every good gift, we thank you for all your special blessings:

we thank youthose who have the gift of another birthday or another anniversary;

We thank you for the moments when we have felt your uplifting presence;

We thank you for your presence in the friends we have;

We thank you for those special blessings we name aloud at this time….

Help us to recognize your presence in our church.

Spirit of God: HEAR OUR PRAYER.

8.Into your loving hands, gracious God, we place ourselves and all our prayers, spoken and unspoken, trusting in your love through Jesus Christ, our Savior.AMEN
