With the prayer “Hear us, O God” you are invited to respond…
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

1. Returning to the Lord with all our heart, let us pray for the earth, for the whole people of God, and for all who cry out for healing and renwal of their faith and love.

A brief moment of silence and reflection

2. For the church, that it may be a visible community of reconciliation, welcoming those estranged or alienated from their family and their community.
Hear us, O God: YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

3. For all communities of faith that together they may be known as places of forgiveness, acceptance and example. And as the Church at Rome seeks to choose their new Bishop, we pray that the Spirit of God would give the church a Bishop that would be a special blessing to the Holy Catholic Church and to the world in all its diversity. We pray also for our partner Anglican Church of Canada and for the congregations in the BC Synod, particularly for Redeemer Lutheran Church in Penticton and their pastor, Curtis Aguire; for Trinity Anglican and Lutheran Church in Port Alberni and their pastor, George Pell; and for the ministry of hospital chaplains, friends and family members. May all of God’s servants know the eternal value of their ministries.
Hear us, O God: YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

4. For the political leaders of this and every nation, that they not squander the resources of the earth, but use them for the good of creation and for all its inhabitants.
Hear us, O God: YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

5. For all who are hanging on to resentment or guilt, and for those broken in mind, body or spirit. We pray especially for those who we name aloud or quietly in our heart at this time….

May all who are in any kind of need be embraced by your compassion and our deeds
of care
Hear us, O God: YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

6. God, the giver of every good gift, we thank you for all your special blessings:
– we thank you those who have the gift of another birthday, another anniversary, or for the gift of new life;
– we thank you for your life-giving assurance of forgiveness
– we thank you for giving us opportunities to share your unconditional love with others;
– Finally, we thank you for those special blessings we name aloud or quietly at this time….

Help us to recognize your presence in our daily life.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT

7. For those preparing for baptism at Easter, and for all seek God. Clothe them in the garments of salvation and welcome them to your table of celebration.
Hear us, O God
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

8. We give thanks for the precious memories of our loved ones. Bring us to your eternal home that together we may rejoice in the inheritance of your grace now and forever.
Hear us, O God
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

9. Hear us according to your steadfast love, O God, and in your great compassion bring us to resurrection and rebirth. AMEN
