(Congregation may be invited to be seated for prayer.)
With the prayer “Hear us, O God” you are invited to respond…
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.
- Gathered around our Lord, crucified and risen, let us pray for the whole people of God, the earth, and all who cry out for healing and new life.
A brief moment of silence and reflection
- Bring your whole church through the waters, that together we may be jubilant and active in the liberating power of the resurrection.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.
- Be known to us this morning as we eat and drink at your table, that we may live as the risen body of Christ in our neighborhood. We pray also for our partner Anglican Church of Canada and for the congregations in the BC Synod: for Living Faith Lutheran Church in Sechelt and their pastor, Ian Nestegaard Paul, and for Lord of life Mission in Sandpit and intern, Vicar Sarah serving them. May the Spirit of God continue to raise up leaders from our midst to serve the church and our communities.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.
- Raise up in our nation, and throughout the world, political leaders who will bring forth a springtime of care for the poor and the forgotten.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.
- Deepen our reverence for the earth and all its creatures that we may marvel at your works and rejoice at each new day
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.
- Draw to your heart all those forgotten by their families and friends; those house bound or hospitalized; and those weighed down by grief, illness, or anxiety. We pray especially for those we name aloud or quietly in our heart at this time …
May the light of Christ shine upon them and through us with resurrection hope.
- God, the giver of every good gift, we thank you for all your special blessings:
– we thank you those who have the gift of another birthday, another anniversary, or for the gift of new life;
– We thank you for your promise of the resurrection ;
– Finally, we thank you for those special blessings we name at this time….
May we be known by our neighbour as a people of hope.
Hear us, O God: YOUR MERCY IS GREAT
- We give thanks for all the saints who proclaim the resurrection through their word, their music and their art. May your creative Spirit continue to renew our lives with their beauty and grace.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT
- Hear us according to your steadfast love, O God, and in your great compassion bring us to resurrection and rebirth. AMEN
