(Congregation may be invited to be seated for prayer.)

With the prayer “Hear us, O God” you are invited to respond…
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

1. Rejoicing with all the witnesses of the resurrection past and present, let us pray in confidence for the church, the world and all who are in need.

A brief moment of silence and reflection

2. Lord, come to us without delay and help us to hear your voice with clarity. Build up the ministries of this congregation that form and shape the lives of your people. May each of us be open to your call to serve the church and our community.
Hear us, O God: YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

3. Lead your church and all communities of faith to proclaim and live your love for one another. We pray at this time for our partner Anglican Church of Canada and for the congregations in the BC Synod: in particular this Sunday we pray for First Lutheran Church in Vancouver and their pastor, Lori Anne Boutin; and we pray for the pastors, students and volunteers who willingly find time in their lives to provide Campus ministry across Canada. We thank you for the work of all your servants.
Hear us, O God: YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

4. Guide those who shape our economies and systems of government so that all have the opportunity to work and share in your abundant resources. May the unemployed and the underemployed know our financial and our vocal support for programs that give encouragement to them and their families.
Hear us, O God: YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

5. Refresh us with springs of water, clean air and favorable weather. Ensure equitable access to clean water throughout the world. Prod us to be good stewards of all your resources.
Hear us, O God: YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

6. Be present with those who wander in dark valleys of suffering and uncertainty. Heal the sick, feed the hungry and console those who are lonely are in pain. At this time, we pray in particular for those we name aloud or quietly in our heart…

May our lives in this coming week grant companionship and hope to all who are in any
kind of need.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

7. God, the giver of all good things
– we thank you those who have the gift of another birthday, another anniversary, or for the gift of new life;
– We thank you for giving us opportunities to offer the healing touch of friendship;
– we thank you for sustaining us and our loved ones with the promise of a new heaven and earth;
– Finally, we thank you for those special blessings we name at this time….
May we continue to recognize your presence in our daily life. .
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT

8. Wipe away the tears of all who mourn. Grant us joy in the memories and witness of our friends and our family members who now dwell in the house of the Lord.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

9. In resurrection hope we commend to you all for whom we pray trusting in the promise of new life; through Jesus Christ, our risen Savior. AMEN
