With the prayer “Hear us, O God” you are invited to respond…
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

1. Rejoicing with all the witnesses of the resurrection past and present, let us pray in confidence for the church, the world and all who are in need.

A brief moment of silence and reflection

2. Inspire your church to embody the love you have revealed to us through our acts of kindness, generosity and care for each other, for the community and for the world.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

3. Break down the barriers in our church that prohibit us from reaching out in love to all of God’s children. Move us beyond economic, racial and class distinctions in our service to those in need. Put an end to our divisions that cause hatred and mistrust.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

4. Lead this congregation and all communities of faith to proclaim and live your love for one another. We pray at this time for our partner Anglican Church of Canada and for the congregations in the BC Synod: in particular this Sunday we pray for Redeemer Lutheran church in Vancouver and their pastor, John Gram; and for the Mandarin ministry of Oakridge Lutheran Church in Vancouver and their pastor, Dorothy Chu. We thank you for all your servants who speak your words of love and hope.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

5. May our leaders and the leaders of all nations have your vision for a world of justice, peace and compassion.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT

6. Renew the spirits of those who suffer in mind or body. Grant hope to those who despair, companionship to those who are alone, and healing to those who are sick, especially those we name aloud or quietly in our heart at this time …

In this coming week, we pray that you would direct and sustain us in our daily ministry to
others.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.
7. God, the giver of all good things
– we thank you those who have the gift of another birthday, another anniversary, or for the gift of new life;
– We thank you for your daily reminder to love one another as you have loved us.
– We thank you for your promise of a new heaven and a new earth;
– Finally, we thank you for those special blessings we name at this time….
May we continue to recognize the leading of your Spirit in the church and in our lives.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

8. Renew the face of the earth and heal the wrongs we have done to your creation. Keep us from daily squandering the abundant resources you have provided for us and for all your creatures.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT

9. In our times of mourning and uncertainty, reveal your promise to us of a new heaven and a new earth. In resurrection hope we commend to you all for whom we pray, trusting in the promise of new life; through Jesus Christ, our risen Savior. AMEN
