(Congregation may be invited to be seated for prayer.)

With the prayer “Hear us, O God” you are invited to respond…
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

1. Rejoicing with all the witnesses of the resurrection past and present, let us pray in confidence for the church, the world and all who are in need.

A brief moment of silence and reflection

2. Unify your church and heal its divisions so that the church would attract and not be an obstacle to any one’s faith journey.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

3. Help the church in every land and in every place to make your name known. We pray at this time for the ministry of our partner Anglican Church of Canada and for the congregations in the BC Synod: in particular we pray for Lutheran Church of the Cross in Victoria and their pastor, Lyle McKenzie and for Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Victoria and their pastors, Ed Mackinley and Guenther Sandl. May all who serve the church be strengthened and guided by your love.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

4. Make wars cease and end violence between nations and between religious factions. Be present with peacekeepers and those who serve in the military throughout the world. Bring them back to us and to their families healthy and whole.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

5. Heal the places of the earth that are torn apart by natural disasters, earthquakes, storms, drought or floods. Strengthen the victims of disasters and in times of emergency, protect the first responders. Strengthen those who are called to the task of rebuilding and bringing renewed hope to their community.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

6. Wrap your arms around all who suffer in mind, body or spirit. We pray especially for those we name aloud or quietly in our heart at this time …

In this coming week, enable us to reveal your love through our care and compassion.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.
7. God, the giver of all good things
– we thank you those who have the gift of another birthday, another anniversary, or the gift of rebirth;
– We thank you for mothers and for all who nurture children with patience;
– We thank you for those who encourage family members in their ministry to children;
– Finally, we thank you for those special blessings we name at this time….
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

8. Stir up in us the faith to believe in the promise of everlasting life. Continue to strengthen and bless us with the memory of those we have loved and who have loved us.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

9. In resurrection hope we commend to you all for whom we pray trusting in the promise of new life; through Jesus Christ, our risen Savior. AMEN
