(Congregation may be invited to be seated for prayer.)

With the prayer “Hear us, O God” you are invited to respond…
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

1. Rejoicing in the good news of God who has come near to us, let us pray for the church, those in need, and all of God’s Creation.

A brief moment of silence and reflection

2. Holy God, blessed Trinity, give us courage and hope as we seek to be your church in this place and at this time. At this time, we pray for our partner Anglican Church of Canada and for the congregations in the BC Synod: in particular we pray for Deo Lutheran Church in Salmon Arm and their pastor, Erik Bjorgan, for Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson Creek, their leaders, their members and the visiting pastors who continue to provide ministry in that community; and we pray for Trinity Lutheran Church in Delta as they prepare to install their new pastor, Jennifer Wilson. Finally we pray for our Companion Synod in Peru, for Fran Schmidt and all the pastors and evangelists who bring the light of Christ to their communities. Bless, protect and empower all who work as your ministers throughout the world.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

3. Holy God, blessed Trinity, have mercy on the nations. Where poverty, fear and injustice reign, bring the hope of your kingdom’s righteousness and peace.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

4. Holy God blessed Trinity, have mercy on your beloved creation. Where chaos threatens and human carelessness destroys, be this world’s Salvation. Bring health and healing to every wounded place.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

5. Holy God, blessed Trinity, have mercy on the sick and the dying, the fearful and the despairing, the hungry and all who are oppressed. Let your healing come to all who cry out to you, especially we pray for those we name aloud or quietly in our heart at this time ……
Lead and empower us to be agents of your healing presence.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

6. God, the giver of all good things
– we thank you for the gift of theology and the gift of our theologians who have helped us know the fullness of God’s grace;
– we thank you for the mystery of your presence we experience in music and in your written and proclaimed Word;
– and we thank you for those special personal gifts you have given to us, to our families and to our friends: for the gift of another birthday, another anniversary, or the gift of spiritual rebirth …
– Finally, we thank you for those special blessings we name at this time….
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

7. Holy God, blessed Trinity, keep us united with the saints-with their faith and with their courage. Inspire us that we also might be faithful to you until that great day when you gather us all into your glory.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

8. Into your hands, O God of compassion, we commend all for whom we pray trusting in your great mercy; through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. AMEN.
