(Congregation may be invited to be seated for prayer.)

With the prayer “Hear us, O God” you are invited to respond…
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

1. Rejoicing in the good news of God who has come near to us, let us pray for the church, those in need, and all of God’s Creation.

A brief moment of silence and reflection

2. Merciful God, we pray for your church. Keep us faithful to the gospel, that we might serve your beloved world with glad and generous hearts.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

3. We pray for this congregation its pastors, its leaders and its mission to this community. At this time, we also pray for our partner Anglican Church of Canada—its pastor, its leaders and its mission. And we pray for the congregations in the BC Synod: in particular we pray for Peace Lutheran Church in Abbotsford and their pastor, Christoph Reimers. Keep each of us faithful to your call and give us grace to be the presence of Jesus to each other and to our communities.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

4. We pray for people of every nation, especially for the weak, the vulnerable, the oppressed and the suffering. Lord, give us the miracle that our leaders would ensure that justice and compassion flourishes in this and in every land,
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

5. Where Jesus walked, he brought healing and forgiveness. Give us faith to call out to you in his name, seeking healing for ourselves and for all who are in need. We pray in particular for those we name aloud or quietly in our heart…

Lead and empower us to be agents of your healing presence.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

6. God, the giver of all good things
– we thank you for the wisdom of your Holy Word.
– and we thank you for those special personal gifts you have given to us, to our families and to our friends:
for the gift of another birthday, another anniversary, or the gift of spiritual rebirth …
– Finally, we thank you for those special blessings we name at this time….
Hear us, O God: YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

7. You have created a world teeming with life. Bless creatures of every shape and size; bless rivers, lands, seas and sky. May we and all your creatures reflect the goodness of your creation.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

8. We give you thanks for the saints, whose lives show us what it means to live in you. At this time we remember the saints of old as well as the saints we have known who have touched our lives and who now rest in your presence.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

9. Into your hands, O God of compassion, we commend all for whom we pray trusting in your great mercy; through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. AMEN.
