With the prayer “God in your great compassion” you are invited to respond…
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

1. Confident in God’s compassionate rule and enduring love, let us lift up the needs of the church, the world, and all of creation.

A brief moment of silence and reflection

2. Draw near to your family of faith, fill us with your empowering Spirit, that we might choose to share our faith in words and in deeds to those we meet and those we live with.
God, in your great compassion: HEAR OUR PRAYER

3. At this time, we pray for all the pastor and delegates as they prepare to leave the joint assembly of the Anglican and Lutheran church bodies in Ottawa. May they return with a renewed love of the church and its mission. We pray also at this time for the congregations of the BC Synod, in particular for Trinity Lutheran Church in Delta and their new pastor, Jennifer Wilson; and for Benediction Lutheran Church in Delta and those who provide ministry there. May we all reflect to our neighbor our love of the Lord and of the Church.

4. Grant wisdom and humility to those who govern, strength to those who work for justice, and mercy to all weighed down by hatred and violence.

5. Comfort those struggling with grief and despair, nurture those who are lonely or discouraged, and sustain all who are hurting in body, mind or spirit. We pray especially for those we name aloud or quietly in our heart at this time…

May we, in this coming week, be your healing presence to all we meet.

6. God, the giver of all good things
– and we thank you for those who have known the gift of another birthday, another anniversary, or the gift of new life …

– we thank you for the Apostle Paul and all who have treated us as a precious child of God;

– Finally, we thank you for those special blessings we name at this time….

7. Guide us on the path that leads to you, until we join your saints in everlasting light, rejoicing that our names are written in heaven.

8. God of mercy, as you have promised hear the cries of your people and answer us according to your steadfast love; through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. AMEN
