With the prayer “God in your great compassion” you are invited to respond…
HEAR OUR PRAYER.

1. Confident in God’s compassionate rule and enduring love, let us lift up the needs of the church, the world, and all of creation.

A brief moment of silence and reflection

2. Lord, overcome our resistance to you and your way. Instead dwell in our hearts and mold us in your likeness so that we may be your hands reaching out to the world in need.
God, in your great compassion: HEAR OUR PRAYER.

3. We pray your blessing on the ministries of our church, our partner Anglican Church of Canada and all communities of faith. In particular at this time we pray for the congregations of our BC Synod: for Hills of Peace Lutheran Church in Kamloops, their interim pastor and those who provide ministry there. And we pray for our companion Synods: the Peruvian Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Colombia; the United Evangelical Lutheran Church of Argentina; the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Cameroon; and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Guyana. May all members throughout the world serve you with glad and willing hearts.
God, in your great compassion: HEAR OUR PRAYER.

4. Tear down the walls that divide people. Raise up new leaders who will strive to perform the miracle of bringing an end to violence against their neighour. May new people heed your call to provide security food, shelter and medical care in our community and beyond.
God, in your great compassion: HEAR OUR PRAYER.

5. When people are shattered by life’s circumstances, bring healing even when there is no cure. Heed the pleas for those in pain or trouble. We pray especially for those we name aloud or quietly in our heart….
Help all to know your sustaining presence, and may they know through our deeds in this coming week.
God, in your great compassion: HEAR OUR PRAYER.

7. God, you are the giver of all good things
– we thank you for the invitation to mediate regularly on your words;
– we thank you for reminding us what we do for others, we do for you;
– and we thank you for those who have known the gift of another birthday, another anniversary, or the
gift of new life …
– Finally, we thank you for those special blessings we name at this time….
God, in your great compassion: HEAR OUR PRAYER.

8. Give us eyes to see and ears to hear the wonder of your miraculous creation. Inspire in us an awe for
each towering oak. And inspire in us an awe even for tiny, pesky insects.
God, in your great compassion: HEAR OUR PRAYER.

9. Dine with us as we gather in the communion of a shared meal. Bring us at the last to the day when we will feast with your saints at the great wedding banquet prepared for us in your eternal home. We pray all this in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. AMEN
