With the prayer “Hear us, O God” you are invited to respond
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

1. With the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, let us pray for the church, those in need, and all of God’s creation.

A brief moment of silence and reflection

2. In this harvest season, strengthen fruit bearing trees and plants. Increase yields so that all may be fed. Help us to encourage the just distribution of food in our land and throughout the world.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

3. Holy and faithful God, teach your church to walk in your ways of trust and obedience. Plant your presence among your people so that they may flourish. We pray for your blessing and your guidance on this congregation, all communities of faith and for our partner Anglican Church of Canada. In particular at this time we pray for the congregations of our BC Synod: Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Penticton and their pastor, Curtis Aguirre; Trinity Anglican Lutheran church in Port Alberni and their pastor, George Pell; and the ministry of hospital chaplains and visitors.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

4. Bless Sunday school teachers and students, Bible study leaders and participants– and all teaching ministries of the church. Let your life-giving Word be freely shared among all who hunger for your Word of new life.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

5. Grant that all who are enslaved or imprisoned would know the gift of freedom. Sustain them until the day that they and their families experience a safe and joyful homecoming.
Hear us, O God
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

6. Gather together all people who feel forgotten by you because of illness, pain, addictions or life’s disappointments. We pray especially for those we name aloud or quietly in our heart at this time…

Deliver them to a place of healing, and help us to embrace them with your unfailing mercy.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.
7. God, you are the giver of those good things we experience in our daily living;
– we thank you for challenging us to live a life of faith and of generosity;
– we thank you for your continued patience with us;
– we thank you for those who have known the gift of another birthday, another anniversary, or the gift
of new life …
– Finally, we thank you for those special blessings we name at this time….
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

8 Loving God, refresh our hearts through the witness of past and present saints. Build us up as one diverse community in Christ, and lead us all to the good that comes from following you.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

9. Into your hands, O Holy One, we entrust all for whom we pray, confident in your abundant and abiding
mercy; through Jesus Christ our Savior. AMEN.
