With the prayer “Hear us, O God” you are invited to respond
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

1. With the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, let us pray for the church, those in need, and all of God’s creation.

A brief moment of silence and reflection

2. Holy and faithful God, lead your church to reach out to others with courage and with compassion. We pray for your blessing and your guidance on this congregation, all communities of faith and for our partner Anglican Church of Canada. In particular at this time we pray for the congregations of our BC Synod: for Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Prince George and their pastor, Fleming Blishen; and for the congregational leaders and pastors who provide ministry through Faith Lutheran Church in Powell River. Sustain our leaders, in particular our pastors and our Bishops Greg and Susan, with your love and your strength.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

3. Holy God of reconciliation, when we stray from you to ways of doubt and disobedience, pour out your mercy upon us and lead us back to you in faith and in faithfulness.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

4. Send your Spirit of forgiveness and renewal to all families, communities, churches and nations. Reconcile us to one another as you have graciously reconciled us to you.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

5. Accompany today’s multitude of refuges, displaced persons, and all who wander without homes. Shelter them from all enemies. Lift them up to find hope and strength in you. Motivate us to be agents of our caring God.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

6. Seek out those who struggle on their own with illness and discouragement. We pray especially for those we name aloud or at this time. ..

Join yourself to all who are in need, bear their burdens and lift them up to find hope and strength in you.
Help us in this coming week to be agents of your care.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

7. God, you are the giver of those good things we experience in our daily living;
– we thank you for reaching out to us when we have strayed from your ways;
– we thank you for opportunities to surprise others with your love and forgiveness.
– we thank you for those who have known the gift of another birthday, another anniversary, or the gift
of new life …
– Finally, we thank you for those special blessings we name at this time….
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

8. Living God, your mercy transforms us. Speak to us through the lives of the saints past and present, and use our lives to proclaim the healing power of your salvation.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

9. Into your hands, O Holy One, we entrust all for whom we pray, confident in your abundant and abiding
mercy; through Jesus Christ our Savior. AMEN.
