With the prayer “Hear us, O God” you are invited to respond
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

1. With the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, let us pray for the church, those in need, and all of God’s creation.

A brief moment of silence and reflection

2. God of all faithfulness, keep your people awake, always searching for opportunities to encourage others in their faith and in their times of doubt. Form us to be faithful in our deeds, our thoughts and our prayers.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

3. Holy and faithful God, lead your church and all it members into a life of faithfulness and daily gratitude. We pray for your blessing and your guidance on this congregation, our neighbouring communities of faith, and for our partner Anglican Church of Canada. In particular at this time we pray for the congregations of our BC Synod: for First Lutheran Church in Vancouver and their pastor, Lori-Anne Boutin Crawford, and for Mikhail Lennikov in his and his congregation journey of faith. Bless the pastors, the leaders and the students as they offer the blessing of community on the campuses throughout Canada. Bless all your people with joy in their individual ministries.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

4. Be present in our colleges, universities, trade schools, teaching hospitals and seminaries. Fill the members of the institutions of learning with a thirst for knowledge and courage to gain new insights. May their time equip them for a life of service to the church and to their communities.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

5. Pour out your abundant grace on all who call upon your name. Those who have been hurt by their family, their friends or by their church hold them fast and draw them into your love. Heal the sick, comfort those in sorrow, and support those who grieve. We pray in particular for those we name quietly or aloud at this time….

In this coming week may we offer comfort and encouragement to all who are in need.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

6. God, you are the giver of those good things we experience in our daily living:
– we thank you for your invitation for us to the speak to you in prayer;
– we thank you for our persistence in trusting you;
– we thank you for those who have known the gift of another birthday, another anniversary, or the gift of new life;
– finally, we thank you for those special blessings we name at this time….
Hear us, O God: YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.
7. Lord, with your mighty power you have given us mountains, carved rivers and blessed us with refreshing streams. You have given us in this land and in this time, abundant harvests. Help us to acknowledge your good and mighty works throughout our lives.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

8. Living God, remembering with gladness the saints who put their trust in you, we pray you increase our faith to live according to your ways for the sake of your people.
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

9. Into your hands, O Holy One, we entrust all for whom we pray, confident in your abundant and abiding mercy; through Jesus Christ our Savior. AMEN.
