With the prayer “Hear us, O God” you are invited to respond
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

1. With the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, let us pray for the church, those in need, and all of God’s creation.

A brief moment of silence and reflection

2. We pray for our neighboring communities of faith and for the church of Jesus Christ throughout the world. We pray especially for our partner Anglican Church of Canada and for the congregations of our BC Synod: for Oakridge Lutheran Church in Vancouver and their parish worker, Dorothy Chu; and for Redeemer Lutheran Church in Vancouver and their pastor, John Gram. Bless all members and all faith communities with courage as the Holy Spirit leads them into the future.
Hear us, O God: YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

3. We pray for peace among the nations, justice for those who have been wronged, and food for all who hunger. May we and our leaders work for those blessings for this land and for all nations.
Hear us, O God: YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

4. We pray for healthy plants, life giving rain where there is drought; and for an abundant harvest that all may be fed. Protect from injury all who work that we might have food and the necessities of life.
Hear us, O God: YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

5. We pray for hope in time of trouble, faith in time of doubt and healing in time of sickness. At this time we pray especially for those we name quietly or aloud…

In this coming week may we offer our patience, our words and our time to all who are in need of care
and of friendship.
Hear us, O God: YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

6. God, you are the giver of all good things:
– we thank you for the witness of this assembly to your gospel, for the Word that renews our life,
and for the bread and wine that continues to nourish our faith.
– we thank you for those who have known the gift of another birthday, another anniversary, or the gift of
new life;

– finally, we thank you for those special blessings we name at this time….
Hear us, O God: YOUR MERCY IS GREAT

7. As the saints of old fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith, may we when we reach the end of our earthly life be known for our faithfulness.
Hear us, O God: YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

8. Into your hands, O Holy One, we entrust all for whom we pray, confident in your abundant and abiding mercy; through Jesus Christ our Savior. AMEN.
