With the prayer “Hear us, O God” you are invited to respond
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

1. With the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, let us pray for the church, those in need, and all of God’s creation.

A brief moment of silence and reflection

2. We pray that the church would not grow weary in its ministry to each other and to their communities. May the spirit of Christ gather us together in this community and unite us to one another in mutual care and support. In that spirit we pray for all communities of faith and their members. We pray for our partner Anglican Church of Canada and for the congregations of the BC Synod: in particular we pray for Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Surrey and their pastor, Peter Hanson; for Grace Lutheran Church in Victoria as it seeks to discern its future ministry; and for the pastors, chaplains and visitors who provide the ministry of hope to those in our prisons. Continue to fill each of your servants with confidence and joy in their life of ministry.
Hear us, O God: YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

3. We pray for your guidance in uncertain times, for endurance in hardships, and for hope in a future of peace and care for the poor.
Hear us, O God: YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

4. We pray for the earth that it may not suffer from our wasteful use or reckless destruction, but that it would be protected and nurtured by our daily decisions.
Hear us, O God: YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

5. We pray for your merciful embrace of the unemployed, homeless, lonely and all those who are suffering in body, mind oar spirit: especially we pray for those who at this time we name aloud or quietly in our heart…

In this coming week may the light of your care shine through us in all that we do or say.
Hear us, O God: YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

6. God, you are the giver of all good things:
– we thank you for promising to be with us in the end times;
– we thank you giving us the desire and the ability to praise and serve you in our daily life;
– we thank you for those who have known the gift of another birthday, another anniversary, or the gift of
new life;
– finally, we thank you for those special blessings we name at this time….
Hear us, O God:
YOUR MERCY IS GREAT

7. We pray for all who wait eagerly for your coming and in thanks for those who now rest in your perpetual light and peace
Hear us, O God: YOUR MERCY IS GREAT

8. Into your hands, O Holy One, we entrust all for whom we pray, confident in your abundant and abiding mercy; through Jesus Christ our Savior. AMEN
