With the prayer “Together we pray” you are invited to respond
COME, LORD JESUS

1. Guided by the light of Christ who has been made known to the nations, we offer our prayers for the church, those in need, and all of God’s creation.

A brief moment of silence and reflection

2. As we celebrate the baptism of Jesus with God’s words of blessing, we pray for the church throughout the world and for all servants of the gospel. We pray for our partner Anglican Church of Canada, for our neighboring faith communities, and for the congregations of the BC Synod: in particular we pray for St. Peter’s Shared Ministry in Hudson’s Hope and their pastor, Fay Lavallee; and for Christ Lutheran church in Kelowna and their pastor, Patricia Giannelia. May all communities of faith be places where their members receive the guidance and courage for their daily living.
Together we pray: COME, LORD JESUS.

3. We pray for this congregation and for all who have been washed in the waters of baptism. We pray for those who at this time are inquiring about the gift of Baptism and those contemplating where they are being called to serve. May we be assured of God’s blessing in our daily life of service.
Together we pray: COME, LORD JESUS.

4. We pray for all in authority at the local, provincial, national and international levels that they serve humbly and with your sense of righteousness.
Together we pray: COME, LORD JESUS.

5. We pray for the oppressed, the imprisoned, those living with HIV/AIDS and whose suffering with illness of any kind. We pray especially for those we name silently or aloud at this time…

May all who call upon you for help, receive strength from your promises and from our caring words and
actions in this coming week.
Together we pray: COME, LORD JESUS.

6. God, you are the giver of gifts in the past and promises for the future:
– We thank you for the gift of water and the gift of the water of our baptism;
– we thank you for those who have known the gift of another birthday, another anniversary, or the gift of new life;
– finally, we thank you for those special blessings we name at this time….
Together we pray:
COME, LORD JESUS

7. We pray for the beauty of creation, for trees and animals, for clean water, and favorable weather, that all creation may know abundant life on our fragile planet.
Together we pray: COME, LORD JESUS.

8. We pray in thanksgiving for the faithful departed that their memories would inspire our confidence in the boundless riches of Christ.
Together we pray: COME, LORD JESUS.

9. Radiant God, hear the prayers of your people, spoken or silent, for the sake of the one who has made his
dwelling among us, your Son, Jesus Christ our Savior. AMEN
