With the prayer “Together we pray” you are invited to respond
COME, LORD JESUS
1. Guided by the light of Christ who has been made known to the nations, we offer our prayers for the church, those in need, and all of God’s creation.
A brief moment of silence and reflection
2. God you have blessed us with your guidance for daily living. Call your church to share that gift with our neighbor. We pray in particular for the ministry of our partner Anglican Church of Canada, for the ministry of our neighboring faith communities, and for the ministry of the BC Synod: in particular we pray for Ascension Lutheran Church in Nelson and their pastor; and for Mount Zion Lutheran Church in New Westminster and their pastor, Marlys Moen. And we pray for Surrey Urban Mission in Surrey, their director, Jonguil Halgate, and for the many who took part in the national walk to help “the hurting, hungry and homeless” in our community. Bless all of us with the joy of serving our church and our community.
Together we pray: COME, LORD JESUS.
3. Holy and perfect God, you call us to share your word of life even when it seems like foolishness to our friends and neighbors. Help each of us to trust that your spirit dwells in us. Show us the way to be your holy people.
Together we pray: COME, LORD JESUS.
4. You call us and our leaders to live lives of justice. Lead all who govern to be bold in their attempts to provide food, shelter and security for all their people.
Together we pray: COME, LORD JESUS.
5. You make the rain to fall, the sun to rise, and in this season, you bless us with lengthening days of light. Feed and protect rich and poor, land and animals and fill us with a daily joy in the world around us.
Together we pray: COME, LORD JESUS.
6. Lord all in need are dear to your heart. So strengthen weary caregivers. Comfort those who are sick and in pain, especially those we name aloud or quietly at this time…
Though our ministry in this coming week, may others experience your sustaining and loving presence.
Together we pray: COME, LORD JESUS.
7. God, you are the giver of great and special small gift;
– we thank you for showing us new ways to think and to live;
– we thank you for those celebrating significant events in their lives …
– for those who have known the gift of another birthday, another anniversary, or the
gift of new life;
– finally, we thank you for those special blessings we name at this time….
Help us to see your presence in our daily lives.
Together we pray: COME, LORD JESUS.
8. Sustain us, O God until we gather with all your saints of every time and every place to praise your name.
Together we pray: COME, LORD JESUS.
6. Radiant God, hear the prayers of your people, spoken or silent, for the sake of the one who has made his dwelling among us, your Son, Jesus Christ our Savior. AMEN
