With the prayer “Hear us O God” you are invited to respond

YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

1.     Returning daily to the Lord, our God, let us pray for the church, the world and all of God’s creation.

A brief moment of silence and reflection

2.     We pray for the whole body of Christ … (pause)…that being born of the spirit and blessed by God, the church would be a blessing to its members and to the community near and far.  We pray for our partner Anglican Church of Canada and for the members of the BC Synod: in particular we pray Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Prince George and their pastor, Fleming Blishen; and for Faith Lutheran Church in Powell River and their interim pastor, Brenda Nestegaard Paul.  May all communities of faith be faithful in their care for others.

Hear us, O God:  YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

3.     We pray for this assembly… (pause)..  that having known the grace of God, that we would share that gift of graciousness with others in our family, our community and our church.

Hear us, O God:  YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

4.     We pray for the world … (pause) … that all countries, tribes, races and families, would live in harmony and mutual respect even as they acknowledge the gifts of others.

Hear us, O God:  YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

5.     We pray for all who are in need… (pause) …for those searching for meaning in their life, for those in pain from broken relationships and for those who are unwell,  especially those at this time we name aloud or quietly …

May our words and our lives in this coming week reflect the mystery of your sustaining presence.

Hear us, O God:  YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

6.  God, you are the giver of all the gifts we have known in our church and in our lives;

– we thank you for those who have heard the call to serve the church;

– we thank you for the gift of faith to face uncertain times;

– we thank you for those celebrating significant events in their lives …

– for those who have known the gift of another birthday, another anniversary, or the

gift of new life;

–  finally, we thank you for those special blessings we name at this time….

Help us to recognize your presence in our daily lives and be open to your call to serve whether we be young or old

Hear us, O God:  YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

7.     We pray for creation …(pause) …that water and wind would continue to renew the earth, its produce and our inner spirit.

Hear us, O God:  YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

8.     We give thanks for the faithful departed …(pause).. for the example of their faithfulness that it sustain us until we enter the reign of God in its fullness.

Hear us, O God:  YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

9.  Into your hands, O God, we commend ourselves and all for whom we pray, trusting in your abundant mercy, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.  AMEN
