Congregation may be invited to be seated for prayer.

With the prayer “Hear us O God” you are invited to respond

YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

  1. 1.     Returning daily to the Lord, our God, let us pray for the church, the world and all of God’s creation.

A brief moment of silence and reflection

  1. 2.     Lead your church, that justified by faith, it may bear testimony to your grace, your power, and your way of life. Bless this congregation that showered with the promises of baptism we welcome all those who thirst for you.  And we pray for our partner Anglican Church of Canada and for the members of the BC Synod: in particular we pray St Paul Lutheran Church in Prince Rupert and their pastor, Jim Whaley; and for Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Richmond and their pastor, Tim Le Drew.  May all communities of faith respect and care for their Bishops, their leaders and their fellow members as together they seek to reflect the love of God to the world.

Hear us, O God:

YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

  1. 3.     Drench the earth with your love, so that this nation–and all nations–ensure that all their people have access to clean water for their needs.

Hear us, O God:

YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

  1. 4.     Bring the healing power of rain where there is drought, and where there is flooding bring dry weather and warmth.

Hear us, O God:

YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

  1. 5.     Satisfy the thirst of all who long for you; the hungry, the poor, the fearful and the ill especially those we name aloud or quietly in our heart …

           May all draw deeply from your well of hope and healing.

           Hear us, O God:

           YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

     6. God, you are the giver of all the gifts we have known in our church and in our lives;

– we thank you for loving us even when we grumble;

– we thank you for asking us to love even those who complain;

– we thank you for those celebrating significant events in their lives …

– for those who have known the gift of another birthday, another anniversary, or the

  gift of new life;

–  finally, we thank you for those special blessings we name at this time….

 Help us to recognize your presence in our lives and in the lives of others.

 Hear us, O God:

 YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

  1. 7.     We give you thanks for all the saints who in their lives have shown their love of God and their love of His church, and who now have entered in your eternal rest.

Hear us, O God:  YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

  1. 8.     Into your hands, O God, we commend ourselves and all for whom we pray, trusting in your abundant mercy, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.  AMEN
