With the prayer “God of new life” you are invited to respond

HEAR OUR PRAYER

  1. Gracious and merciful God. incline your ear and hear this morning our pleas for ourselves, our family, our church and the nations:

      A brief period of silence.

  1. We pray that you would guide and bless the life of mission of all communities of faith; in particular we pray for our partner Anglican Church of Canada and for the congregations of our BC Synod:for St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Maple Ridge and their pastor, Roland Ziprick; and for Matsqui Lutheran Church in Matsqui and the pastors and leaders providing ministry in their community. Raise up within this congregation those who would heed the call to be part of your mission to the world.

God of new life:   HEAR OUR PRAYER.

  1. Guide pastors, teachers, volunteers and worship planners as they prepare for our opportunities to worship in old and in new creative ways. Place your Word on their lips and in their hearts.

God of new life:   HEAR OUR PRAYER.

  1. Lord of all, how beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of hope and love. We pray for missionaries and evangelists around the world. Keep them safe and bless the work they do in your name.

God of new life:   HEAR OUR PRAYER.

  1. Calm the storms that sweep across families and individuals dealing with death or suffering.   Fill their aching hearts with your peace which passes understanding. We pray especially for those we name aloud or quietly at this time.

Help us in this coming week to be an agent of healing.

Hear us, O God: YOUR MERCY IS GREAT.

6. God, we thank you for how you continue to surprise us with your blessings:

             – we thank you for your supporting presence when we experience life’s storms
             – we thank you for those who have known the gift of another birthday, another anniversary, or the                gift of new life;
            – finally, we thank you for those special blessings we name at this time….

             May our words and our actions give encouragement to all we encounter in this coming week.

  1. You have given us to enjoy vast seas, great lands, and abundant material resources to feed a hungry planet. Give us also grateful hearts and willing hands to care for those gifts.

  1. With gratitude for the memories of those who have witnessed to their love for you and the church, we pray that you would receive our praise and the praise of all those who call upon your name.

  1. We lift our prayers to you, God of mercy, confident that all things are in your hands. In Jesus’ name we pray. AMEN.
