With the prayer “God of new life” you are invited to respond:  HEAR OUR PRAYER

  1. Filled with gratitude for how you have blessed this nation, we pray for the church, those in need and all of God’s creation.

      A brief period of silence.

  1. We pray that this congregation and all communities of faith would be filled with gratitude for how they have blessed, guided and protected through the years. We pray in particular at this time for bringing our Lutheran church together in ministry with our partner Anglican Church of Canada.   We pray also for the congregations in our B.C. Synod: for Spirit of Life Lutheran church in Vancouver and their pastor, Cliff Reinhardt; and for Dunbar Lutheran church in Vancouver, and their pastor, Thomas Keeley. And may your spirit continue to fill us with gratitude for blessing us with bishops, pastors, leaders and for our synod staff who together make possible the ministry of your church.

God of new life:   HEAR OUR PRAYER.

  1. Continue to come near us, Lord God. Let your whole church rejoice at your banquet where all are invited and welcomed, washed, fed, forgiven and chosen.

God of new life:   HEAR OUR PRAYER.

  1. Come near us, Lord God.   Let your world rejoice in the peace which surpasses understanding and with tables overflowing with good food and drink for all people.

God of new life:   HEAR OUR PRAYER.

  1. Come near us, Lord God and let your people rejoice with faces wiped free of tears, minds unbound from addictions, bodies free from suffering and souls restored. We pray in particular for those we name aloud or quietly in our heart at this time..

Help us in this coming week to be your presence in our homes, our work places and our communities.

God of new life:   HEAR OUR PRAYER.

6.   Come near us, Lord God that we would recognize your presence in all of life’s blessings:

  •   at this time we remember those who have known the gift of another birthday, another      anniversary,
  •   or the gift of new life;
  •   and for those special blessings we name at this time.

God of new life: HEAR OUR PRAYER.

  1. Come near to us, Lord God. Let your people and all of creation rejoice in green pastures beside still waters, on mountain tops, in harvest fields, along city streets, down country roads and throughout the valleys.

God of new life:   HEAR OUR PRAYER.

  1. Come near to us Lord God. Let your faithful rejoice in every assembly in praise and singing word and deed unrestrained from worry and filled with the joy of knowing you.

God of new life:   HEAR OUR PRAYER.

  1. Trusting in your mercy and goodness, we bring before you these prayers and whatever else you see that we need. We pray in the name of the one who has chosen to come near us in all of life, Jesus Christ our Saviour. AMEN
