With the prayer “God of new life” you are invited to respond:  HEAR OUR PRAYER

  1. With the whole people of God in Christ Jesus let us pray for the church, those in need and all of God’s creation

      A brief period of silence.

  1. We pray that this congregation and all communities of faith would be beacons of generosity and of acceptance. We pray in particular at this time for our partner Anglican Church of Canada. We pray also for the congregations in our B.C. Synod: for First Lutheran Church in Vancouver and their pastor, Lori-Anne Boutin-Crawford and their ministry. And we pray for the campus ministry–for the students, the pastors and the leaders who choose to offer a Christian presence in the campuses of our universities and our colleges. Protect them all from discouragement, and help them all to reflect in their daily life the joy of their salvation.

God of new life:   HEAR OUR PRAYER.

  1. Lord of all, help us to be a support for one another. And may the business world of big and small businesses be seen as examples of care for their workers.

God of new life:   HEAR OUR PRAYER.

  1. Lord of creation; help us and our nation to share our resources with care so that all people in the present and in the future would know the beauty and the benefits of a healthy creation.

God of new life:   HEAR OUR PRAYER.

  1. Lord of the nations; help all nations and leaders to put aside memories of past injustices and work toward reconciliation and the welfare of both friend and foe. Even when faced with the criticism of friends, empower us to be advocates for the oppressed and for the weak.

God of new life:   HEAR OUR PRAYER.

  1. Lord of life, help us in our own needs and the needs of our family and friends. Where there is addiction, broken relationships and illness restore the minds and bodies to health; where there is grief and despair sooth them with the power of your caring presence. We remember especially those we name aloud or quietly in our heart at this time …

In this coming week, help us to be your understanding presence.

God of new life:   HEAR OUR PRAYER.

  1.  Lord, you are the giver of all good gifts
  •  we thank you for blessing us with the gift of the church and for the gift of government;
  •  we thank you daily for showing us the mystery of your grace as we see your goodness bestowed  on both believers and unbelievers;
  •  we thank you at this time for those who have known the gift of another birthday, another  anniversary, or the gift of new life;
  •  finally, we thank you for those special blessings we name at this time….

God of new life: HEAR OUR PRAYER.

  1. Trusting in your mercy and your goodness, we bring before you these prayers and whatever else you see that we need. We pray in the name of the one who has set us free, Jesus Christ our Saviour. AMEN
