With the words “O Lord of Baptism,” you are invited to respond:

HAVE MERCY AND HEAR US.

Draped in the bright white of Christ made known to all peoples, let us lift up the needs of the faithful, the world, and all people.

A moment of silence

For the baptism we share with you and others throughout the world, we give our thanks. Drape the bright white hope of your influence upon leaders everywhere that peace and fairness reign throughout the land.

O Lord of Baptism

HAVE MERCY AND HEAR US.

For the beauty of daily life and those with whom we share it, for delicious water, and the weather that sustains us and all creatures great and small.

O Lord of Baptism

HAVE MERCY AND HEAR US.

For those in authority, we pray humility and fairness of spirit. In our towns, provinces, and nations, we ask that your passion for justice filter throughout the lands.

O Lord of Baptism

HAVE MERCY AND HEAR US.

For faith communities that spread the love that changes things for the better. We pray especially for our partner Anglican Church of Canada. We pray for the congregations of our BC Synod: for Benediction Lutheran Church in Delta and Interim Pastor David Lefsrud, and Trinity Lutheran Church in Delta and their pastor Jennifer Wilson. Transform us all so that we know the riches of right living.

O Lord of Baptism

HAVE MERCY AND HEAR US.

For all those imprisoned by sickness of mind and body. For every one who feels forgotten and for those suffering illness and pain. Teach us to be with our brothers and sisters that your care and community be made real among us. We pray especially for those we name aloud or quietly in our heart….

(Include those listed in the bulletin for prayer)

O Lord of Baptism

HAVE MERCY AND HEAR US.

For those living with HIV/AIDS, for those who treat them and seek better cures, and for the continent of Africa so ravaged by this illness.

O Lord of Baptism

HAVE MERCY AND HEAR US.

In thanksgiving for those, living and dead, who inspire us to live with creative goodness and daily joy, we pray, in the name of Jesus who is here today, tomorrow, and always. AMEN
