With the prayer “Oh, Holy Child of innocence and wisdom,” you are invited to respond:

HEAR OUR PRAYER.

Amazed that you embrace us as whole and holy, we bring you our prayers for the church, the world, and all people in need.

A moment of silence

Let celebrate nature, the stars and skies, the verdant land at rest, and all the globe’s resources that sustain us. May we steward them with the love of you the Creator.

Oh, Holy Child of innocence and wisdom

HEAR OUR PRAYER.

Let us be your heart, your hands, your voice to those who are sick, lonely, and distressed. Teach us the power of being present. We pray especially for those we name aloud or quietly in our heart…

(Include those listed in the bulletin for prayer)

Oh, Holy Child of innocence and wisdom

HEAR OUR PRAYER.

Let us accept that there always will be war and strife, poverty and pestilence and yet always work and pray that peace and prosperity will spread across all nations, all lands, in your beloved world.

Oh, Holy Child of innocence and wisdom

HEAR OUR PRAYER.

May faith communities everywhere participate avidly in your great design. We pray especially for our partner Anglican Church of Canada. We pray for the congregations of our BC Synod: for Benediction Lutheran Church in Delta and Pastor David Lefsrud, and Trinity Lutheran in Delta and their pastor Jennifer Wilson.

Oh, Holy Child of innocence and wisdom

HEAR OUR PRAYER.

For your children gathered here and for travellers and students, as we all return to our ordinary lives after the holidays. Help us to see the extraordinary blessing in our daily lives.

Oh, Holy Child of innocence and wisdom

HEAR OUR PRAYER.

We bow in thanksgiving for all who have gone before us, celebrating your life and lives of faith that gather us all into goodness and light.

Oh, Holy Child of innocence and wisdom

HEAR OUR PRAYER.

Radiant God, listen to our hearts as we shiver before you, awaiting. AMEN
