With the words “O Child of Light,” you are invited to respond:

HEAR OUR  PRAYER.

A moment of silence

In our time of darkness, we look to the light of Christ showered upon all nations and peoples. We offer up our prayers for the faithful, the world, and everyone everywhere in need.

O Child of Light

HEAR OUR PRAYER.

For dry lands and wet lands, coasts and plains, and for our tender keeping of our environment in how we buy and how we build.

O Child of Light

HEAR OUR PRAYER.

For leaders throughout the world, we pray for sanity and the tenacity to side with what is right. We pray for peace, especially in the Middle East, and seek your influence on extreme radicals of all stripes who consider terror as a strategy.

O Child of Light

HEAR OUR PRAYER.

For faith communities that seek to be part of the solutions in a problem-rich world, we seek your help. We pray especially for our partner Anglican Church of Canada. We pray for the congregations of our BC Synod: for Hills of Peace Lutheran Church in Kamloops and their pastor Jill Gingrich and our missionaries Rev Yoli Javaleta in Peru and Rev. Andrea Baez in Argentina.

O Child of Light

HEAR OUR PRAYER.

For all those who know pain, grief, and suffering, especially those with chronic conditions. Teach us how to make room for them in our homes and communities. We pray especially for those we name aloud or quietly in our heart….

(Include those listed in the bulletin for prayer)

O Child of Light

HEAR OUR PRAYER.

For the people gathered in this place, bringing with them all their unique gifts and characteristics. May we all invite you into the celebrations of birthdays and anniversaries, births and deaths, and daily thanksgiving.

O Child of Light

HEAR OUR PRAYER.

You are radiant and sweet, enough for our todays and our tomorrows. We fold our prayers into the lap of your Son, Jesus the Christ. AMEN
