With the words “Oh, God of difficult journeys” you are invited to respond:

 WALK WITH US.

A moment of silence

Called to walk with you in joy and compassion, we choose a path that includes faithful people everywhere, the world, and people of sorrow and strength. Oh, God of difficult journeys

WALK WITH US.

In baptism, you assure us that we belong to you, to a blessed world, and a holy community. Help us to live our legacy as a yeast that produces fresh bread to feed a hungry world. Oh, God of difficult journeys

WALK WITH US.

Make the earth overflow with life-giving water. May deserts bloom and water remain a god-given right and not a commodity. Oh, God of difficult journeys

WALK WITH US.

Teach us to meet friend and stranger with respect and open-mindedness. Make our churches places of refuge and refuelling of love. We pray especially for our partner Anglican Church of Canada. We pray for the congregations of our BC Synod: Mount Zion Lutheran in New Westminster and Pastor Marlys Moen and for Surrey Urban Mission Society. Oh, God of difficult journeys

WALK WITH US.

Make us your agents for healing and help. Help us find ways to reach out all who hurt, hunger, and thirst. We pray especially for those we name aloud or quietly in our heart…. (Include those listed in the bulletin for prayer) Oh, God of difficult journeys

WALK WITH US.

Inform ministers, musicians, teachers, council members, committees, and all those who lead our congregations. Keep us close to your word and your ways as we learn and worship together. Oh, God of difficult journeys

WALK WITH US.

May we gratefully travel the path you have given us, in the way of the Word that was, that is, and is to come. AMEN
