With the words “Lord of light and promise,” you are invited to respond:

HEAR US AS WE PRAY.

Confident that Easter resurrection and re-direction is ours through Jesus Christ, we seek oneness with you as we pray for the church, all faith communities, the world, and those in need and lonely.

A moment of silence

Holy God, inspire our leaders to preach the good news of resurrection and freedom in God and us to find many and varied ways to translate that news in our spoken and unspoken languages day to day.

Lord of light and promise,

HEAR US AS WE PRAY.

Holy God, teach us how to look and really see the abundance and magnificence of the world that nourishes us. Let us learn from it the compassion and creativity to tend to people, plants, and animals as our brothers and sisters.

Lord of light and promise,

HEAR US AS WE PRAY.

Holy God, lead us into paths of peace and peacefulness. Make willing to listen when we wish to speak, change our hearts and minds when we’re comfortable, and work when we are weary. Let us infect our leaders with our persistent example.

Lord of light and promise,

HEAR US AS WE PRAY

Holy God, make this Easter ever-old and ever-new that we might live out the miracle of your presence in life here, life now. Bless all those celebrating this day, and touch our visitors, family, and friends here, afar, and traveling.

Lord of light and promise,

HEAR US AS WE PRAY.

Holy God, we raise up our broken hopes, bodies, and minds seeking that healing that comes from your open hands. We pray now for those we name aloud or deeply within our selves….

(Include those listed in the bulletin for prayer)

Lord of light and promise,

HEAR US AS WE PRAY.

Holy God, we praise you as you create, reveal yourself, and redeem the presence of all faith communities where we live. We pray especially for our partner Anglican Church of Canada and for the congregations of our BC Synod. We especially raise up Spirit of Life Lutheran in Vancouver and Pastor Clifford Reinhardt and for St. Paul Shared Ministry in Barriere and Pastor Brian Kushel.

Lord of light and promise,

HEAR US AS WE PRAY.

Holy God, we marvel with Easter joy that you invite us to participate in your continuing redemption of our world through our prayers here and elsewhere. Trusting in the empty cross, we enfold our prayers in the radiance of Jesus, the Jewish teacher, the Christ. Alleluia. And the people say: AMEN
