With the words “Let us pray,” you are invited to respond:
HAVE MERCY, O GOD.
Confident that Easter marks the triumph of goodness over evil, of light over darkness, we offer our petitions for the church, the world, and all people in need
A moment of silence
For our church on earth, for those who proclaim good news and peace, and for the ministry of congregations around the globe, let us pray,
HAVE MERCY, O GOD.
For fields and flocks, seas and sanctuaries, for the well-being of a fragile planet, and for those who advocate and work for a thriving creation, let us pray,
HAVE MERCY, O GOD.
For the diverse countries of the world, for those who govern and those who serve, that we may demand leaders who serve with goodness and fairness, let us pray,
HAVE MERCY, O GOD.
For the wide variety of families that sustain our days, for mothers celebrating this day, and for all parents and caregivers that they teach children the ways of kindness and godliness, let us pray,
HAVE MERCY, O GOD.
For the sick, the lonely, those who mourn, those afflicted with malaria, and those who suffer in mind, body, or spirit, that compassionate caregivers serve them as God would tenderly care for them. We pray especially for those we name aloud or in our hearts.
(Include those listed in the bulletin for prayer)
Let us pray,
HAVE MERCY, O GOD.
For our ongoing efforts with our partner the Anglican Church of Canada and for congregations of our BC Synod: Lutheran Church of the Cross in Victoria and Interim Pastor Richard Hergescheimer and Trinity Lutheran and Anglican Church in Port Alberni and Pastor George Pell, let us pray,
HAVE MERCY, O GOD.
For the faith and love we have know through the teachers of the church and the saints living and living in our minds, let us pray,
HAVE MERCY, O GOD.
Holy God, you day by day find ways to insert hope and renewal, new life and mindfulness, into the fabric of our lives. Hear our prayers for the sake of the one who has set us free to really live. AMEN
