SHINE ON OUR LIVES.
Trusting the Spirit you promise us, we pray for the church, the world, and the world.
A moment of silence
O God, you call your church through the waters of baptism. Give courage and wisdom to those who lead us through word and sacrament, witness, service, and song. Strengthen us all in Jesus’ name.
Sweetest Jesus, shimmering spirit, SHINE ON OUR LIVES.
You nourish our world with sunlight and water. Rain upon on dry earth, and bless the rivers, streams and lakes we call ours. Replenish our oceans and make us ever-thankful for cool waters to drink.
Sweetest Jesus, shimmering spirit, SHINE ON OUR LIVES.
Direct all leaders in the daily tasks of listening and speaking. Bring peace to all people and places afflicted by war, violence, disaster, and injustice.
Sweetest Jesus, shimmering spirit, SHINE ON OUR LIVES.
Soothe our fears. Teach us to stand up to fear and accept our failings, and go forth to do your will. Comfort all those who are lost, those who doubt, and those who are sick. We pray especially for those we name aloud or in our hearts.

Smile upon those who care for young children, especially fathers this day. Inspire them with wisdom, energy, and good humour that they use both play and instruction with their young charges.

Inspire our partnership with Anglican Church of Canada and the congregations of our BC Synod, especially Shepherd of the Valley in Comox and our seminaries in Saskatoon and Waterloo.

Thank you for the saints, especially translator Onesimos Nesib, whom we commemorate today. Enable us to hear your voice now and all our eternity to come.

Listen and lead us into eternity warm as summer, backlit with joy. We commit all this to you, calling on the name of Jesus, our brother and guide. AMEN
