With the words “You who know our strength and sorrows,” you are invited to respond:

HEAR OUR PRAYER.

Trusting the Spirit you promise us, we pray for the church, the world, and all creation.

A moment of silence

Into the cathedral of creation, you spoke the assurance of your presence. Make us live forward your vision as your church, your people, our faith.

You who know our strength and sorrows, HEAR OUR PRAYER

Let us look to the skies and seas with wonderment and a commitment to nourish and tend the land with its varied and wondrous organisms.

You who know our strength and sorrows, HEAR OUR PRAYER

Bring our leaders to their senses and to their knees as they seek to govern with the wisdom and fairness that is our cherished dream in this place. We pray especially for Christy Clark, our premier, that she use her powers humanely.

You who know our strength and sorrows, HEAR OUR PRAYER

Teach us to forgive ourselves and in doing so learn to forgive others. Comfort all those who are ailing in heart, mind, or body. Daily heal us from the wounds of living. We pray especially for those we name aloud or in our hearts.

(Include those listed in the bulletin for prayer)

You who know our strength and sorrows, HEAR OUR PRAYER

Bless the ministries of healing in this congregation, both formal and informal, that we shall be known by our love, by our love.

You who know our strength and sorrows, HEAR OUR PRAYER

Inspire our partnership with Anglican Church of Canada and the congregations of our BC Synod, especially Good Shepherd Lutheran in Coquitlam and Pastor Eric Krushel and King of Life Lutheran in Coquitlam and Pastor Kathy Martin.

You who know our strength and sorrows, HEAR OUR PRAYER

Thank you for those who have shown us the way of faith, especially Irenaeus, Bishop of Lyons. Enable us to hear compassion and walk in its ways all our lives.

You who know our strength and sorrows, HEAR OUR PRAYER

Listen and lead us into eternity warm as summer, backlit with joy. We commit all this to you, calling on the name of Jesus, our brother and guide. AMEN
