With the words “Oh, God, of mystery and might,” you are invited to respond:

HEAR US AND BLESS US.

Gathered in and nourished by the Divine within us all, we come together in this place to pray for your church, your world, and all of creation.

A moment of silence

Grant us hope in times of hopelessness and patience when our roads are long and wearisome. Nurture us with the tender care and compassion of a mother bringing her young to strength and mastery.

Oh, God, of mystery and might, HEAR US AND BLESS US.

Send us warm sun and cooling rains in good measure. Teach us to revel in and move to the rhythms of the earth and respect its powers and patterns. Remind us that we are part of the natural order rather than separate from it.

Oh, God, of mystery and might, HEAR US AND BLESS US.

Move within the hearts of the powerful that wars and hostilities be replaced by the slow, challenging ways of peace. Teach us all the ways of being neighbours to one another stead of strangers and aliens.

Oh, God, of mystery and might, HEAR US AND BLESS US.

Speak rest and renewal into the hearts of those who care for others in homes, hospitals, long-term care facilities, and hospice. Be with those who are dying, comfort those who grieve, and heal those who are sick. We pray especially for those we name aloud or in our heart.

(Include those listed in the bulletin for prayer)

Oh, God, of mystery and might, HEAR US AND BLESS US.

Breathe through the anxiety and frantic pace so many people feel in our hectic society. Help people find leisure that renews and restores them to balance. Make this place and our time together something that refreshes us for the days ahead.

Oh, God, of mystery and might, HEAR US AND BLESS US.

Inspire our partnership with Anglican Church of Canada and the congregations of our BC Synod, especially Hills of Peace Lutheran in Kamloops and Pastor Jane Gingrich and our missionaries Rev. Yoli Zavaleta in Peru and Andrea Andrea Baez in Argentina. Bless the ministry of Pastor Carolina Glauster who was ordained yesterday in Victoria.

Oh, God, of mystery and might, HEAR US AND BLESS US.

Give us a sense of the participation of your people, past, present, and future in the unfolding of the human mystery on this earth. Make us ever more faithful in bringing about the blossoming of human potential.

Oh, God, of mystery and might, HEAR US AND BLESS US.

Into your hands, loving God, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in the grace of Jesus our Saviour. AMEN
