With the words “We wear the signs of your compassion,” you are invited to respond:
HEAR US AND BLESS US.
Gathered by the Spirit enlivening us all and nourished by your word, we come together in this place to pray for your church, your world, and all those in need.
A moment of silence
God of our innermost dreams and outspoken desires, we beg you for prophets of wisdom and hope, and for the promise of meaning and mastery in the lives you have given us. Inspire our preachers and open our ears to hear and listen.
We wear the signs of your compassion. HEAR US AND BLESS US.
Send favorable weather and the rain that all living things need to grow and flourish. Makes our fields, gardens, and orchards verdant and productive that we might eat and enjoy.
We wear the signs of your compassion. HEAR US AND BLESS US.
Give us leaders who consider the needs of great and small, especially those who have no advocate. Protect all people who speak truth to power.
We wear the signs of your compassion. HEAR US AND BLESS US.
Visit hope and healing upon victims of violence, those who are unjustly imprisoned, and those whose hope is running thin. Heal those who are sick and comfort those who grieve. We pray especially for those we name aloud or in our heart.
(Include those listed in the bulletin for prayer)
We wear the signs of your compassion. HEAR US AND BLESS US.
Strengthen families that the hearth is truly a safe place, a sanctuary of love, acceptance, and personal growth. Guide parents and caregivers, and enfold children with love and laughter.
We wear the signs of your compassion. HEAR US AND BLESS US.
Inspire our partnership with Anglican Church of Canada and the congregations of our BC Synod, especially St. Peter’s Shared Ministry in Hudson’s Hope and Christ Lutheran in Kelowna and Pastor Patricia Giannella.
We wear the signs of your compassion. HEAR US AND BLESS US.
Thank you for all those who inspire us with hearts lit by faith and lips speaking of love and hope. We pray for saints past and present, especially Nathan Soderblom, Bishop of Uppsala. Keep us all faithful until you come.
We wear the signs of your compassion. HEAR US AND BLESS US.
Into your hands, loving God, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in the grace of Jesus our Saviour. AMEN
