With the words, Hear us, O God of resurrection and light,                                                                you are invited to respond Your mercy is great.

On this High Feast, we lift up our hopes and dreams for new and renewed life for your church, your beloved earth, and all those in need that the whole world can see the luminous promise of abundance.

a brief silence

Fill us with the promise of life fully lived in our families, our churches, and our wider communities. Let us embody the unity that comes from honouring our differences and finding common ground. Make the strengths of our Lutheran church and our partner Anglican Church of Canada meld and move us all. We pray especially for Living Faith Lutheran in Sechelt and Pastor Ian Nestegaard Paul and Lord of Life Mission in Sandspit.

Hear us, O God of resurrection and light

Your mercy is great.

Preserve our lands and seas, and the diversity of life that dwells within them. Water flowers and shrubs, forests and growing crops. Draw us into the nurture of our environment and daily contemplation of its power and glory.

Hear us, O God of resurrection and light

Your mercy is great.

Renew our commitment to demand that our nation be one of the peace-makers in a world torn by bloodshed and injustice. When our dreams for peace and sanctuary for refugees are dashed, turn our eyes to the empty tomb and your movement towards wholeness around the globe.

Hear us, O God of resurrection and light

Your mercy is great.

Visit compassion upon us and through us that the hungry may be fed, the weak protected, and the sick and weary nursed and cared for. We pray especially for those we name aloud or in the depths of our being. Bless those who have requested your care and strength (name those on the prayer list)

Hear us, O God of resurrection and light

Your mercy is great.

Infuse this congregation with the power of your love among us. Reveal yourself and your power of love and abundance in us and through us. Transform grief and death into the beauty of the mystery and dance of the Trinity.

Hear us, O God of resurrection and light

Your mercy is great.

Enable us to celebrate all those people of faith who have met you in death and live with the memory of their lives. Make us ready to live fully and to die in peace and thanksgiving.

Hear us, O God of resurrection and light

Your mercy is great.

Jesus the Christ has died, Jesus the Christ has risen, Jesus the Christ comes again and again among us. Christ is risen indeed Alleluia. In his name, we pray

Amen
