With the words, Hear us, O God of resurrection and light, you are invited to respond Your mercy is great.

With eyes wide open to compassion and abundance, we pray for the life of the church, the lives of people in need, and the bounty of all creation.

a brief silence

God of stars and planets, God of this good earth, reveal to us your plan for us to reside in wisdom and wealth of spirit, body, and mind. Strengthen us in the good news that washed over us in baptism and lasts all our life long. Let us celebrate our communion with our partner Anglican Church of Canada. We pray especially today for Oakridge Lutheran in Vancouver and Pastor Dorothy Chu and Redeemer in Vancouver and Pastor John Gram.

Hear us, O God of resurrection and light

Your mercy is great.

Send us to places near and far, with a spirit of openness and listening. Join our voices in choruses of praise and wonder. Grant us a luminous faith that changes our interactions in a way that we participate fully in the life you give us.

Hear us, O God of resurrection and light

Your mercy is great.

Enable us to move from the desires to dominate and have power over others. Teach us the effectiveness and humanity of cooperation, and make your church model this behaviour in the community. Let us respect and act lovingly to those who test our values and patience.

Hear us, O God of resurrection and light

Your mercy is great.

Sustain people who are hurting with the patience to endure, the hope for change, and the ability to learn good things even among hard times. We pray especially for those we name aloud or in the depths of our being. Bless those who have requested your care and strength (name those on the prayer list)

Hear us, O God of resurrection and light

Your mercy is great.

Strengthen the bonds of shared service between congregations and social ministry organizations. (Specific local ministry partnerships may be mentioned here.) Guide us in our efforts to meet people’s needs for food, friendship, and all that sustains us–body, mind, and soul.

Hear us, O God of resurrection and light

Your mercy is great.

Dwell among us, and let us revel in all things that become new and renewed in our lives. Make us teachers and models to others, and let us celebrate those who have come before us. We remember Catherine of Siena, the first woman to be named Doctor of the Church.

Hear us, O God of resurrection and light

Your mercy is great.

We move into the comfort and protection under your wings and give all this to you. In the name of the Risen Christ,

Amen
