With the words, We are the Beloved’s, the Beloved is ours, you are invited to respond Hear us and bless us.

As people freed by the power of Christ, we pray for our church, for those in need, and for the wonder of “Human Beings-Not for Sale.”

a brief silence

Holy Trinity, you hold out your arms, invite us into your sacred dance, and teach us the steps for this Praise Appeal Sunday. Make our freedom in you nurture our communion with our partner Anglican Church of Canada, Bishop Logan, Bishop Greg and the congregations of our synod. We pray especially today for Grace in Dawson Creek, Deo Lutheran in Salmon Arm and Pastor Erik Bjorgan, and our companion synod in Peru.

We are the Beloved’s, the Beloved is ours

Hear us and bless us.

Focus us on the worth of each human being and enable us to embrace people free and flourishing on our bounteous planet. Let us move in rhythms of respect and reverence for this place that feeds us spiritually and physically. Keep us from being held hostage to the consumerism that threatens our holy pilgrimage.

We are the Beloved’s, the Beloved is ours

Hear us and bless us.

Spirit of liberation, reconcile us as we welcome refugees and work beside all those bound by modern forms of slavery and coercion. Humanize our homes, communities, and businesses. Empower those on the margins.

We are the Beloved’s, the Beloved is ours

Hear us and bless us.

Use our hands, hearts, voices, and resources to tend to those who are ill, injured, or dealing with personal matters that twist their thinking. We pray especially for those we name aloud or in the depths of our being. Bless those who have requested your care and strength (name those on the prayer list)

We are the Beloved’s, the Beloved is ours

Hear us and bless us.

Surprise us each day, every week, with your murmurings that teach us the freedom of full humanity. As with the sweet aromas of growing things, let us inhale the essence of you walking us through the mundane and the merry, the learning and the letting go.

We are the Beloved’s, the Beloved is ours

Hear us and bless us.

Turn us toward hoping and toward helping our brothers and sisters. Make us bold with your message that our minds, hearts, and spirits belong to you, to us, not to powers over and around us.

We are the Beloved’s, the Beloved is ours

Hear us and bless us.

You are Creator God, Word among us, and meandering spirit of wisdom. In the name of the mystery of the Trinity, we pray.

Amen
