With the words, God of our deepest longings, you are invited to respond Hear our prayer.

As people who know that you meet us in the quiet places, we pray for our church, for those in need, and for all of creation.

a brief silence

Move upon the face of our lives so that others see hope and help when they look upon us. Make your face shine upon our partnership with the Anglican Church of Canada. Bless Bishop Logan, Bishop Greg and the congregations of our synod. We pray especially today for Mount Olivet in North Vancouver and Pastor Carolina Glauster and Christ the King in Surrey and Pastor Gordon Hoeflicker.

God of our deepest longings

Hear our prayer.

Let us taste and really savor the sweet bounty on our tables at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Bring crops to ripening, and make farms and food industries rich with nourishing food. Help us to feel ourselves as co-creators of this earth which provides us the stuff of life.

God of our deepest longings

Hear our prayer.

Break through the bonds of all kinds of captivity, be they of our own making or of the powers that be in the world. Needle the conscience of political leaders everywhere that they cannot run from the rights of all people for food, clothing, shelter, and the company of others who care for them.

God of our deepest longings

Hear our prayer.

Open our souls to the Christ within the bluster and noise, Christ within the quiet, Christ amidst our questions. Let us leave the bosom of our homes and families each day ready to encounter you in our work and in our play, in the adventure each day becomes when we follow you.

God of our deepest longings

Hear our prayer.

Heal and comfort us when fear overtakes us, when our bodies fail us, when our strengths are depleted.  We pray especially for those we name aloud or in the depths of our being. Bless those who have requested your care and strength (name those on the prayer list)

God of our deepest longings

Hear our prayer.

Strengthen marriages, families, and friendships with the mutual love and support that give life meaning. Make our congregation, and communities of faith everywhere, places where people feel truly received and valued.

God of our deepest longings

Hear our prayer.

We pray all this and whatever else we cannot even formulate into words through the Creator Spirit, Brother Christ, and Wandering Spirit.

Amen
